As I’ve noted in the past, the process of selecting the right application development partner can be overwhelming, particularly in light of shifting mobile app development trends. Fortunately, Forrester Research has sorted through the variety of available service providers and published a new report that provides an overview of vendors that can assist with business-to-consumer (B2C) mobile apps, along with guidelines for choosing key mobile development partners.

Here at Apexon, we’re pleased to be named in this report among the technology services firms that excel at building, implementing and testing apps. The report notes our roots in testing and QA, and significant amount of mobile testing work in B2C, in addition to development and engineering work.

The Forrester Research report, entitled Vendor Landscape: B2C Mobile App-Dev Shops For Large Enterprises, accurately identifies key challenges facing today’s enterprises under constant competitive pressure:

“Customer-obsessed firms want to nail mobile moments, but many lack a cohesive consumer mobile app strategy. All too often we see business-to-consumer app strategies suffer from apps that have fragmented experiences, don’t work properly, and don’t do enough for the consumer. Some firms lack the skills and culture to address these issues and turn to third-party services providers.”

To help enterprise application development and delivery (AD&D) pros address these challenges, Forrester analysts Liz Herbert and Jeffrey S. Hammond (with Christopher Andrews, Julie A. Ask, Bill Seguin and Kara Hartig) highlight mobile technology services firms that are strong at systems integration and mobilizing packaged apps. So if you’re interested in pursuing mobile development excellence, and want to avoid throwing mobile app-dev dollars down the drain, you might want to read this new Forrester report.
