Unlike standard cloud deployments, our infrastructure is a self-hosted AEM 6.5 architecture managed internally on AWS. We are seeking a developer with deep-dive technical knowledge of AEM, combined with the operational expertise to support, troubleshoot, and automate our self-managed infrastructure. Person will bridge the gap between traditional software development and AEM systems operation, ensuring the platform remains highly available, performant, and secure.

Key Responsibilities

• AEM Development & Customization: Design, develop, and maintain custom components, templates, OSGi services, and workflows within AEM 6.5. Build out new components utilizing Java backend programming and React frontend integrations.
• Infrastructure & Operations Support: Manage, monitor, and configure AEM running on self-hosted AWS EC2 instances, leveraging Amazon ebs /EFS for shared datastores and securing the environment with AWS-native services.
• Production Support & Incident Management: Own the troubleshooting of production environment issues, including performance bottlenecks, replication failures, out-of-memory errors, and dispatcher caching issues. Perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent hotfixes.
• Automation & Scripting: Write, maintain, and execute robust scripts (Bash, Python, or Ansible) to manage AEM instances. This includes automating start/stop routines, backups, system restarts, and critical maintenance tasks (e.g., TarMK/MongoMK revision cleanups, datastore garbage collection, and workflow/audit log purging).
• Global Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate with global cross-functional engineering, infrastructure, and business teams to align delivery schedules and handle platform-level updates.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of hands-on AEM Development experience, with deep technical and architectural knowledge of AEM 6.5.
• Strong backend Java programming expertise (Sling Models, OSGi services, JCR/Oak repository manipulation).
• React programming skills to support headless or hybrid frontend integrations.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting AEM infrastructure (analyzing thread dumps, heap dumps, Oak index optimizations, and dispatcher configs).
• Working knowledge of AWS operations related to AEM, including managing EC2 instances, S3 storage, Security Groups, VPCs, and Load Balancers.
• Knowledge in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Shell, Python) for automating platform maintenance, backup procedures, and start/stop tasks.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work as part of a global team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• AWS Certifications .
• Experience in Financial Services or Investment Banking environments (understanding compliance, high security, and low-latency requirements).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Maven, Git) in self-managed pipeline architectures.
